I discovered my love for restaurants later in life. For me it’s always been about the people, both who work in hospitality and our guests.

Cynthia is the kind of place where you’re likely to run into a neighborhood friend, or make to a new one.

You can usually find me at the bar chatting with guests, shaking cocktails and pouring wine.

Chef

Chris Randriarimanana moved to DC from his native Madagascar at 15 years old. 

In 2021 he began his career in restaurants and developed his passion for cooking and flavors. 

Originally hired as a sous chef, Chris quickly became an essential member of the team where he displayed exceptional technique, taste, and finesse. 

In the Spring of 2023, Chris was promoted to the position of head chef and assumed full control over the menu. Chris credits his parents for introducing him to the unique flavors of Malagasy cooking which, as a result of its diverse cultural heritage, has Asian, African and European influences.
